T-Kash supports two ways of moving money outside the mobile wallet network: transfers to and from a bank account, and payments to businesses through Paybill numbers. Each has its own tariff structure.
Bank to T-Kash
Charges for moving money from a bank account into your T-Kash wallet:
| Amount (KSh) | Charge (KSh) |
|---|---|
| 1 – 100 | Free |
| 101 – 1,000 | 15 |
| 1,001 – 250,000 | 22 |
This is the cheapest of T-Kash's transfer channels for larger amounts — the fee caps at KSh 22 for anything from KSh 1,001 up to the KSh 250,000 maximum single-transaction limit.
T-Kash to Bank
Charges for sending money from T-Kash to a bank account:
| Amount (KSh) | Charge (KSh) |
|---|---|
| 1 – 100 | Free |
| 101 – 500 | 6 |
| 501 – 1,000 | 21 |
| 1,001 – 1,500 | 26 |
| 1,501 – 2,500 | 33 |
| 2,501 – 3,500 | 47 |
| 3,501 – 5,000 | 57 |
| 5,001 – 7,500 | 67 |
| 7,501 – 10,000 | 88 |
| 10,001 – 20,000 | 93 |
| 20,001 – 250,000 | 103 |
Moving money out to a bank costs the same as sending it to another mobile wallet at every band, capping at KSh 103 above KSh 20,000 all the way to the KSh 250,000 maximum single-transaction limit.
Paying a Business via T-Kash (Paybill)
Charges when paying a business Paybill number using your T-Kash wallet:
| Amount (KSh) | Charge (KSh) |
|---|---|
| 1 – 100 | Free |
| 101 – 500 | 21 |
| 501 – 1,500 | 26 |
| 1,501 – 3,500 | 47 |
| 3,501 – 7,500 | 72 |
| 7,501 – 25,000 | 103 |
| 25,001 – 45,000 | 185 |
| 50,000 – 250,000 | 196 |
A published rate for the narrow KSh 45,001–49,999 range wasn't available in the current rate card — confirm with Telkom directly if you're paying an amount in that gap. Paybill fees run noticeably higher than sending or bank-transfer fees at the same amount, since the charge reflects the business's collection tariff rather than a simple P2P transfer.
T-Kash also supports code-based merchant payments (no till number needed to enter), which reduces the risk of paying the wrong business by mistake, since the generated code can only be redeemed once at the intended merchant.
What This Means for You
- Prefer bank transfers for large one-off payments. If you're moving a large sum and the recipient has a bank account, Bank-to-T-Kash or T-Kash-to-Bank is usually cheaper per shilling than paying via Paybill.
- Paybill costs more at every comparable band. A KSh 2,000 Paybill payment costs KSh 47, versus KSh 33 to send the same amount to a bank account or another wallet — factor that into how you choose to pay.
- Small payments under KSh 100 are always free, regardless of which of these three channels you use.

Unlike the sending-money and withdrawal tariffs (which are confirmed against Telkom's own printed T-Kash Tariff Guide), these Paybill and bank-transfer figures come from secondary trackers only and don't appear on that printed guide — treat them with more caution. Confirm current charges in the T-Kash app (dial 334#) or with Telkom customer care (160) before a transaction, especially for larger payments.
